STC Multi-Chapter Webinar focused on Innovation, 28 February 2020

Join us on February 28 for our STC Multi-Chapter Webinar, brought to you by the Central New York Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication. This multi-chapter educational event is offered virtually over an extended lunch hour (Eastern Standard time).

STC CNY and STC NY Metro are providing a speaker for the event who will address an aspect of Innovation and then entertain questions.
Using Articulate Storyline to Engage Learners presented by Courtney Linn
Courtney will give an overview of the Articulate Storyline software and how it has helped her innovate product education. She will demonstrate how easy it is to make deliverables interactive as they implement features like animation and layering.
Great Customer Experience is a Team Sport, presented by TJ Cardenas
Can tech writers nurture smart collaboration among multiple stakeholders to achieve a common goal? Is it a skillset or a mindset? Using a real-life example, this webinar sharpens the focus on the changing role of collaboration so that attendees can achieve the following:
- Learn how to leverage audience analysis combined with proactive communications and relationship-building to drive engaging customer experience.
- Gain insight into opportunities to connect, learn, and reach across silos to encourage collaboration across functional boundaries.
- Understand the impact of the role of the communicator in influencing and building partnerships that achieve breakthrough solutions and results.
About the presenters
Courtney Linn has been creating technical communication since she earned her degree in Professional and Technical Writing at the University of South Florida more than 15 years ago. Courtney is a self-taught collector of software programs and is always looking for more innovative ways to communicate information. She has since translated her skills into instructional design and is currently learning video editing. Courtney works for Hillrom, Care Communications, and she lives in Sarasota, FL with her two cats.
TJ Cardenas is an award-winning tech comm pro at Medidata, a Dassault Systèmes company. In his current role as a senior technical content strategist, TJ is responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of customer-facing product knowledge supporting clinical trial workflows in Medidata’s study planning software. As president of the STC NY Metro chapter, TJ is actively involved in advancing new ways to collaborate, connect, and engage the next generation of professionals. In addition to management consulting experience exceeding 20+ years in diverse roles in life sciences, market research, professional services, and technology, his earlier tech comm-related roles included event marketing, product operations, and reference master data management in information services and publishing. TJ has a Master of Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Stony Brook University.
